bio

The past four years or so, the Shakedown Brothers have been touring Blues Pubs and Clubs across England, wowing audiences with a mix of blues originals music, re-worked classics and lesser-known tunes by well-known artists, to great acclaim from audiences and promoters alike.

The band comprises seasoned musicians with many years experience from a variety of musical backgrounds who have combined their talents to provide an energetic and eclectic programme of contemporary blues. Having been on the blues scene for a number of years, and after a personnel reset in 2021, the band has been playing numurous blues clubs across the Midlands and beyond.

Shakedown Bothers, fronted by 'Slim' Rick, serve up a passion filled-performance of self penned tunes and lesser-known songs from blues masters and contemporary artists along with the occasional classics, all played in the Shakedown style.

Slim accompanies his vocals with electric, acoustic and slide guitar as well as the harp so the audience can expect anything from soulful Delta to full blown Blues-Rock with a funky feel thrown in.

With Neil Barker on Bass, Keith Hewiston on  drums, and Steve Rollings on keys the band offers additional depth and feeling, all the way up to the full blues experience.

The Shakedown Brothers don’t mess around they just get stuck into their job of providing great entertainment with great sounds. Here's what venues and media have said:

"What a great night - Probably the best band we've ever booked", Louth Blues Club

"Superb - I can't recommend them highly enough", Rugeley Blues Club
